ACT 1

<< SPOILERS >>

Side with Minthara

– Meet & talk with her at the goblin camp
– Show her where the druid grove is located
– Meet her later at the grove to raid it
– Camp party scene automatically plays out
– Cannot recruit Karlach and Wyll

This is the “full service” Minthara option, to take her side in the tiefling / goblin conflict. The quest to find the goblin camp is first initiated from Zevlor (or Sazza, the goblin imprisoned in the grove). Zevlor tells you to kill the goblin leaders to pave a safe path for them to leave the grove. Sazza, once freed, tells you to follow her to find the goblin camp and meet the drow.

Once you find & talk with Minthara, you can choose to show her where the grove is located. You are asked to meet her there later. She then leaves to prepare the raid immediately.

At the grove, pretend to be on the tieflings’ side, but then betray them last minute and let the goblins enter the grove. You MUST kill all tielfings and goblins in the raid to completely side with her.

Once the raid is over, the camp party with goblins will play, then you have the intimate scene with her.

Minthara takes you somewhere at night.

She leaves in the morning for Moonrise.

There are a few ways to set up events in Act 1, so you can recruit her later in Act 2. You can side with Minthara, use mods to recruit her (& save tieflings), or avoid the tiefling & goblin conflict altogether. There’s also one arduous way to save the tieflings and recruit her by turning her into a sheep.

Use mods

If you want to save the tieflings & druids, optionally recruit Karlach and Wyll, and still recruit Minthara, there are two main mods on Nexus that make it possible:

  1. Daughter of Lolth
This mod allows you to summon Minthara in Act 1, using a ring you can equip. It also gives you a spell called the Minthara’s Faith spell. It will get your approval with her to 100.

    – You don’t need to have the ring equipped after you summon her.
    – If she dies in combat, she’s removed from battle, so will need to put on the ring to summon her again.
    – This mod makes the intimate scene show up after the tiefling party, where Minthara flirts with you if you talk to her.
    – The Moonrise scene is removed completely.
    – You are able to free Halsin and recruit him too.
  2. Daughter of Lolth – Good Recruitment
This mod imitates the most natural order of events, as if you ignored the tiefling / goblin conflict. Except here, you kill or knock out Minthara to complete the ‘kill all goblin leaders’ quest, but she will appear again at Moonrise anyway.

    – This does not require a ring, nor is there an approval spell included, so you have to gain her approval naturally after recruitment.
    – Go ahead and complete Zevlor’s quest to kill all goblin leaders by talking to him again, and continue playing normally.
    – There is no Minthara intimate scene in Act 1.
    – You still need to save her at Moonrise, so you can recruit her afterwards.
    – You can free and recruit Halsin too.

Avoid tiefling & goblin conflict

– Can initiate the Zevlor & Minthara quests
– Can show or not show Minthara where grove is, but do NOT meet her there for the raid
– Do not complete Zevlor quest to kill all goblin leaders
– (Optional) If show Minthara where grove is located, she leaves the goblin camp. So, you can kill all other goblins (for fun, XP, loot)
– Can recruit Karlach and Wyll

Minthara leaves the goblin camp once you tell her where the grove is located.

This option allows you to avoid raiding the grove or killing the goblin leaders (in case killing the tieflings and druids is hard for you). The tielfings still die on their own because the goblins attacked them when they left the grove. The druids live, but we don’t see them any further into Act 2 and 3.

If you find Halsin in the goblin camp and release him from jail, he will not help you later in Act 2 (to lift the shadow curse) nor is he recruitable. This is because you didn’t help defend the grove.

It’s recommended to do the Zevlor and Minthara quest as far as you can without completing them for the extra XP. You might want to do more side quests as well so you’re not under-leveled when you leave the area.

There are no Minthara approvals in Act 1
